Coming off an 8-4 record and a semifinal loss to eventual SCISA 8-man state champion Holly Hill, Laurens Academy will play a 10-game schedule beginning with a home game versus Faith Christian on Aug. 20.

All three of Laurens County’s varsity football teams will debut on that night, with LA and Clinton (vs. Pendleton) at home. Laurens District High visits T.L. Hanna in Anderson on opening night.

The other four opponents at Todd Kirk Field are Palmetto Christian, Cathedral Academy, Jefferson Davis and Wardlaw.

Head coach Kirk and staff must replace the Crusaders’ passing and rushing leader, Thomas Lowry, who was the state’s most prolific offensive force in the 8-man game.

Diamonte Grant, Cal Robertson, Clarence Bertoli and Will Jones are among the returnees.
