INMAN – Clinton High School had another great girls’ tennis team, but not as great as the one fielded by Region 3-3A rival Chapman. In the Upstate finals on Tuesday, the Panthers added to that clear truth, defeating the Red Devils, 4-2.
It was Chapman’s third victory over Clinton (10-3) this season. The regular-season matches were both 4-3.
This time two matches – Nos. 1 and 4 singles – went to a third, tie-breaker set. In both, Clinton won the first set.
