Clinton High School athletics director Louie Alexander released the basketball schedules for the Red Devils and the Clinton Middle School Wildcats.

With the exception of the girls’ visit to Dorman on Dec. 2, all games include both girls’ and boys’ games, with girls playing at 6 and boys afterwards.

Both varsity teams open on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Newberry. The junior varsity teams host the Bulldogs on Monday, Nov. 30.

In 1919-20, Clinton’s girls, coached by John Gardner, went 22-5, advancing to the third round of the Class 3A playoffs with victories over Catawba Ridge and Pendleton. Keenan eliminated the Red Devils.

A young boys’ team, coached by Eddie Romines, finished 1-23 after qualifying for the playoffs in each of the previous three seasons. The Red Devils begin the season with a 20-game losing streak on the line.

Clinton Middle School opens its season on Dec. 7 at Saluda Middle. The teams play at CMS on Dec. 10.
