One of the key moments in Clinton’s 32-26 victory over Emerald occurred when sophomore defensive lineman Hezekiah Kinard blocked an overtime field goal attempt. He also had 6 tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss and a forced fumble.

The Laurens County Touchdown Club has rewarded Kinard by naming him as the county’s Player of the Week.

Kinard’s honor will be presented at the Touchdown Club meeting on Oct. 8 at The Ridge, where Presbyterian College head coach Tommy Spangler will be the featured speaker.

The LCTD is honors local high school players each week for their performances. Previous weeks’ honorees were Judson Watkins, Thomas Lowry, Diamonte Grant and Carson Venable, all of Laurens Academy.
