SPARTANBURG – The Clinton junior varsity clobbered the homestanding Centurions of Broome, pounding out 11 hits en route to a 12-0 baseball shutout.

The Red Devils (6-0, 2-0 Region 3-3A) won the earlier game between the two, 7-6.

Zack Fortman stroked hits in each of his 3 at-bats. The top three in the Clinton order – Fortman, R.T. Corley and Zane McLendon – each scored 3 runs. Trent Roth produced the game’s only extra-base hit, a double.

Fortman was also the winning pitcher, going 3-1/3 innings, allowing just 1 hit, walking 3 and striking out 4. Zach Lollis also surrendered just a hit in 1-2/3 frames.
