Clinton High School has tentatively scheduled its spring football game for May 27 at Wilder Stadium, beginning at 6 p.m., though holding it relies in part on the availability of players taking part in baseball and track this spring.
Spring practice is scheduled for May 10-27, with workouts from 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays.
Non-contact summer drills are to be conducted on the following schedule: May 31-June 3, 1:30-3:10 p.m.; June 7-10, 1:30-3:10; June 14-17, 1:30-3:10; June 21-24, 7:30-9:30 a.m.; and June 28-July 1, 7:30-9:30 a.m.
Head coach Corey Fountain has scheduled 7-on-7 competitions at Laurens on June 1 at 5 p.m., Clinton on June 8 at 5 p.m.; June 22 at Laurens at 10 a.m.; and June 29 at Clinton at 10 a.m. Another may be added.
After taking the week of July 4 off, Clinton will resume non-contact drills July 12-15 at 7:30-9:30 a.m., and July 19-22 at 7:30-9:30 a.m.
After the state coaches’ clinic on July 25-29, the Red Devils’ first preseason practice is at 8 a.m. on July 30.
The Red Devils have scrimmages set for Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. versus Blacksburg and Wade Hampton, and Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. against Chapin.
Clinton is also set to compete in a jamboree at Greer. The date and time have not been set.
C.K. Kennedy-Vance, a Clinton High senior headed to Erskine to play football, was named Region 3-3A running athlete of the year at the region meet on Saturday.
Vance won the 100, 200 and 400 meters and was on the winning 4x400 relay. His 400 time was a school record.
