It all – a perfect record and a trip to the Class 3A state tennis finals – came down to No. 1 doubles on the home court on Tuesday.

Ike Waldron and Connor Donley came through, and with ease, giving Clinton (14-0) a 4-3 victory over Seneca and a trip to Florence on Saturday to play for the state championship at Florence Tennis Center at 1 p.m.

Waldron and Donley won in singles, as well, along with senior Anders Orr, to send the match to the deciding doubles match.

Oceanside Collegiate defeated Waccamaw 7-0 for the Low Country title.


Singles –Waldron (C) defeated Samuel Goodroe 6-0, 6-0. Connor Donley (C) defeated Joseph Burgess 6-0, 6-0. Anders Orr (C) defeated Andrew Stover 6-3, 6-1. Levi Leard (S) defeated Nathan Meade 6-3, 7-5. William Smith (S) defeated Edwin Orr 6-1, 3-6 (7-5).

Doubles –Waldron-Donley (C) defeated Burgess-Leard 6-1, 6-1. Ryan Wallace-Johnny Dong (S) defeated Eli Brewer-Henry Curtis 6-2, 6-2.
