Clinton is now 5-0 in junior varsity football after a 22-6 victory over Broome at Wilder Stadium on Thursday night.

The Red Devils led 8-6 halftime but extended the lead with a touchdown each in the 3rd and 4th quarters. D.J. Clark, J.T. McGowan and Jaden Hill eached scored on 1-yard runs, and Daniel Gossett made a sack that resulted in a Centurion safety.

"Tonight our defense played well,” Clinton coach Dontavius Glenn said. “We made mistakes on offense but were able to correct them in the 2nd half. We also had kids step up and make plays to keep [Broome] out of the end zone. I’m proud of our guys.”

Greenville left K.C. Hanna Stadium on Thursday night with an 18-6 victory over the Laurens junior varsity football team.

Mistakes plagued the Raiders. The 1st Greenville score occurred after a high punt snap gave the Red Raiders possession at the LDHS 2.

Nick Fowler’s 13-yard run put the Raiders on the board late in the 1st quarter. Another high snap set up one of the Red Raiders’ two remaining scores.

The Raiders drove deep into Greenville territory early in the 4th quarter before another turnover, this one an intercepted pass.
