Led by Chandler Dailey, who won at No. 2 singles in straight sets without losing a game, Clinton prepped for a pair of crucial matches against Region 3-3A rival Chapman by dispensing with Woodruff 7-0.

A year ago, Chapman and Clinton boasted the two best 3A teams in the Upstate. The Panthers won the region championship over the Red Devils and later defeated them again the Upstate finals.

Making up for earlier rainouts, Clinton (7-0, 7-0 region) visits Chapman on Thursday, and the Panthers travel to Clinton on Friday.

Singles -- Mary Catherine Dailey defeated Lauryn Beeler 6 – 3, 6 – 1. Chandler Dailey defeated Lily Zheng 6 – 0, 6 – 0. Gracie Spangler defeated Co Co Zheng 6 – 1, 6 – 1. Reese Gowan defeated defeated Marlee Wood 6 – 3, 6 – 2. Kimora Wesley defeated Anna Henry 6 – 2, 6 – 2.

Doubles – M.C. Dailey-C. Dailey defeated Beeler-L. Zheng 8 – 3. Gracie Wiggins-Libby Dailey defeated Emilee Thompson-Ivy Kate Rhodes 6 – 3, 6 – 4.

Laurens swept a doubleheader on Tuesday and took 2nd place in Region 2-4A.

It was a girls’ tennis twinbill, necessitated by an earlier rainout. The Raiders beat Eastside twice by scores of 5-2.
