Clinton got the best of Laurens in Tuesday cross country meets run on the Red Devils’ home course.

The boys underscored Laurens 19-44 (lower score wins in cross country), led by Charlie Cody (1st, 18:45) and Keenan Dominick (3rd, 19:09). In between was the Raiders’ Josue Garcia at 19:04.

Clinton won the girls’ race, 21-34, with Dorothy Trent winning at 24:40 and Erin Donley 3rd at 26:42. Once again, a Raider finished 2nd. Ryleigh Bragg ran 26:34.

Greer High School was a pleasant venue for the Raider girls’ tennis team, which defeated the Yellow Jackets 6-1 on Tuesday.

Laurens won all singles lines and No. 2 doubles.

Next week’s schedule finds the Raiders at home against Greenville on Monday (Oct. 4) and Eastside on Wednesday. Both matches are set to start at 5 p.m.

Laurens Academy swept its Tuesday volleyball matches at home over Cambridge Academy. The Crusaders won the varsity match 3-0 and the middle-school match 2-0.

Greenville defeated Laurens in golf, 200-238.

Bryson Cruickshanks tied a personal best by shooting 51. Other LDHS scorers were Mary Frances Kennedy 55, and Lane McCracken and Julia Kennedy each carded 66s.
