The Little League Majors state tournament continues on Thursday evening at City Park, but the local representative is no longer alive.

Irmo advanced to the finals – it must defeat Northwood twice – with a 16-2 victory over L3. Laurens couldn’t overcome a 6-run second inning by Irmo, which piled on 10 more in the fifth.

Jaylin Bluford and Isaac Cain scored the lone Laurens runs in the third inning.

Irmo outhit L3 11-6.

An Irmo victory on Thursday at 6 p.m. would extend the tournament to one more game, to begin at approximately 8. Irmo avenged a 3-0 loss to L3 on Saturday morning.

Football practice begins for Laurens at Clinton on Friday morning, Aug. 30, when the Red Devils hit the practice field at 7:30 a.m. and the Raiders begin their first session at 8:30.
