Northwood Little League of Taylors has been a frequent opponent and persisrnt nemesis of Laurens Recreation’s all-star teams.

It didn’t rain enough on Tuesday to prevent the state Little League Majors tournament game from being played, but Northwood rained on L3 enough to take an 11-0 victory. Northwood didn’t get but 5 hits. Walks, hit batters and errors took a toll.

Wyatt Pinson got L3’s only hit, and it was in the first inning.

Irmo, a 3-2 winner over Tega Cay, takes on Laurens Wednesday night at 6:30, with the winner advancing to face Northwood for the state championship. A Laurens victory would mean L3 has to defeat Northwood twice on Thursday, with the first chance at 6 p.m.
