Clinton High School is holding its Athletic Awards Night on Wednesday, June 9, at 6 p.m.

The evening begins in the main gym, but beginning at 6:20, various sports will be honored in several locations:

Clinton Post 56 is sponsoring a Junior American Legion baseball team that will play home games at Clinton High School.

The Dirt Devils are coached by Peyton Spangler, CHS junior varsity coach and former player at Newberry College, along with others from of Clinton staff. The team has road games next week at Ninety Six and Newberry.

Here’s the schedule:

June 7, at Ninety Six, 6:30 p.m.; 10, at Newberry, 6:30; 22, EMERALD, 6:30; 23, MID-CAROLINA, 6:30; 24, NINETY SIX, 6:30; 28, at Greenwood, 6:30; 29, GREENWOOD, 6:30.

July 1, at Mid-Carolina (Prosperity), 6:30; 2, at Emerald (Greenwood), 6:30; 7, vs. Newberry (Newberry College), 6:30.

Devin Cosper has joined Alaura Sharp’s staff as director of basketball operations at Presbyterian College.

Cosper takes over the position from Kiana “Lucky” Rudd, who was promoted to assistant coach last month.

“She brings many different skill sets to our program and will add a background in marketing and organizing events, which is very relevant for our director of operations position,” said Sharp of Coster. “She will assist us in improving our home-game atmosphere, as well as work towards improving attendance.”

Cosper is a graduate of the University of Arkansas.
