Both Laurens and Clinton are playing in the state baseball playoffs in Saturday games starting at noon.

Laurens (16-8) takes on Catawba Ridge (15-10-1), of Fort Mill, at Ed Prescott Field. The Raiders are champions of Region 2-4A. The Copperheads are runners-up to York in Region 3.

Clinton (15-6) visits Powdersville (19-7), west of Greenville in Anderson County. The Red Devils are runners-up to Chapman in Region 3-3A. The Patriots are champions of Region 2.

Laurens softball season came to an end at Boiling Springs, where the Bulldogs shut out the Raiders 15-0 on Thursday night.

Boiling Springs outhit Laurens (6-15) 8-2 and took advantage of 6 Raider errors.

Olivia Hall and Regan Bristol homered for Boiling Springs. Hall was the starting and winning pitcher, while Alyssa Rowe took the loss.

Bristol was 3-for-3 at the plate.

Kauree Munyan and Rowe had the Laurens hits, both singles.
