Last week I got every game right. I should’ve bought a lottery ticket. My luck was good.

Sure, it was only 2-0 here, but I do this gig for the Anderson County ( site, too, and I was 5-0 there. Up there, they’re liable to think I’m somebody.

My favorite baseball team won. My least favorite team lost.

Undoubtedly, disaster awaits. Even I know it all evens out in the long run.

I was hopeful for a full slate, but COVID claimed Laurens High again. My heart bleeds. I know those kids want to play a lot because I want to see them.

Three games are left on the docket. Presbyterian College and Laurens Academy are at home. Clinton High School is on the road, battling Broome. Laurens is at the house, battling the Fighting Viruses of Corona High.

Clinton (6-0, 1-0 region) at Broome (2-4, 0-1) – Even as the Red Devils made a bid for the top of Region 3-3A by thumping Union County, the Centurions were doing the reverse by falling to Emerald, 41-28, back on Sept.17. But it was early.Clinton by 21.

Jefferson Davis (2-2) at Laurens Academy (0-6) – Raiders are invading Todd Kirk Field, which has thus far been susceptible to attack. Davis by 22.

Morehead State (2-2, 1-0) at Presbyterian (2-2, 0-1) – Blue Hose fans, don’t get too fired up. Yes, PC defeated the Eagles in the spring. Yes, also, Morehead just defeated Dayton in overtime. And, yes, the Flyers defeated Presbyterian. But, no, the Blue Hose are going to capitalize on a much-needed week off and win their 3rd straight home game. Presbyterian by 11.

Last week: 2-0. Season to date: 17-3.

Note:I’m not any better than anyone else at picking the outcome of ballgames, races, meets, matches and elections. My modest skill is that of a history major: I know what already happened. Prophecy wasn’t offered as a major. My advice is to read the above for amusement purposes only. For God’s sake, don’t lay a bet on what I think.
