Rayshon Harrison led Grand Canyon University into the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on Saturday night.

The Antelopes relied heavily on Harrison, who transferred to GCU from Presbyterian College after two seasons with the Blue Hose, to defeat Southern Utah, 84-66, and claim the Western Athletic Conference’s automatic bid.
Harrison, a Greenville product, scored 31 points, handed out 8 assists and grabbed 8 rebounds. He was named Most Outstanding Player in the WAC tournament, scoring 80 points, grabbing 21 rebounds, and piled up 23 assists in four games.
GCU (24-11) is coached by Bryce Drew.
The Phoenix, Ariz., school is advancing into the tournament for the 2nd time in three years.
In the finals, Harrison, still a sophomore in eligibility, committed only 1 turnover, made 2 steals and hit 5-7 triples.
For the season, Harrison led the Lopes, averaging 17.7 points.
GCU (24-11) will learn its NCAA assignment on Sunday. The Lopes defeated Texas Arlington, Seattle, Sam Houston and Southern Utah in the Las Vegas, Nev., tournament, held at Orleans Arena.
