SIMPSONVILLE – Laurens got off the bus cold at Hillcrest on Tuesday as the Rams raced to a 68-47 victory over the Raiders in basketball.

LDHS (0-4) got solid scoring from Josh Cureton and Tquayvious Johnson, both of whom scored 15 points, but Hillcrest got off to a 19-2 lead in the first quarter. The Raiders outscored in the Rams in the fourth quarter.

Sean Lindsey led Hillcrest with 24 points.

Also scoring for LDHS were Waldrick Burnside with 6, and three players – Chase Jackson, Preston Mahon and Isaiah Burnside – had 2.

The Laurens girls are under quarantine and did not make the trip. No girls’ game will be played in Clinton on Friday night either, and the boys’ game between the Raiders and Red Devils will tip off at 6:30.
