Zy’Tavius Todd of Laurens High is the county Touchdown Club’s Player of the Week for the 2nd time this fall.
Todd, a senior linebacker/running back, played a crucial roll in the Raiders’ 19-14 victory at White Knoll in Lexington. The Raiders finish off the regular season on Friday night at home versus Greer.
Against the Timberwolves, Todd rushed 23 times for 142 yards and made 8 tackles, 1 for loss. Todd’s hard runs allowed Laurens (4-3) to to nail down the win with a 16-play, 6-minute drive.
The Laurens County Touchdown Club will honor Zy Todd on Thursday, Nov. 4, at the next meeting. The meeting will be at The Ridge in Laurens.
Chris Burgin of S.C. Sports Talk, is the featured speaker at the Nov. 4 meeting. Burgin is a former station manager at WPCC radio in Clinton where, for many years, he was the radio voice of both the Clinton Red Devils and the Presbyterian Blue Hose.
The LCTD Club meets every other Thursday throughout the football season at The Ridge,. located in Laurens at 301 Exchange Drive. The public is invited to attend. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15. All meetings are at noon.
